Our Story

Onion AI was launched out of personal experience in the PE sector.

With experts in private equity, AI development, and risk management, our team saw big opportunities to harness generative AI in ways that could level the playing field for small and mid-sized firms to compete with the bigger firms.

We knew we could empower smaller firms with faster access to high-potential deals and a more informed decision process. And, we could greatly reduce time spent on low-value tasks.

We wanted to provide a more accurate and secure AI solution than the DIY efforts we saw PE firms building for themselves.

Why the Name?

The name ‘Onion AI’ comes from our approach to problem-solving and exploration. Much like peeling back the layers of an onion, we uncover challenges and drive solutions at multiple levels, working from the outside to the core.

For PE firms, this means helping with external market challenges like improving competitiveness all the way in to core operational hurdles like reducing the time analysts spend creating investment memos.
